From humble beginnings on a commercial farm site, U70 has grown and developed into one of the leading PVCu Window and Door fabricators within the South East. The entire operation is currently based along Freebournes Road in Witham (Essex) just leading off from the main A12 road, London to Colchester. The factory is a modern 35,000 Sq. ft. unit securely surrounded to provide staff and customer parking there is also a separate area to the side of the factory large enough to cater for all sizes of delivery vehicles that supply various production materials.

The manufacturing capacity is around 1200 items per week although this is generally maintained at 70% allowing for movement in sales, fast-track jobs and the ever increasing demand of contract work which may be required in short term periods and can cause large 'spikes' in manufacturing figures. However, these trends are admirably catered for with the intervention of 'State of Art' machinery and modern bar coded software programmes – all of which are costly necessities but form the backbone and philosophy of the company. Plans for 2015/16 is to adept a `continental work pattern` whereby output can be double by the introduction of a second work shift by starting earlier and closing later.

All U70 frames carry the prestigious Q Mark within the BM Trada accreditation scheme and have been in the past also `type tested` to meet many of the industry’s highest BSI standards from manufacture, processing, quality control and energy ratings all in conjunction with CE declaration certification. All windows produced carry as a standard feature PAS 24 and other products can be further specified to meet the popular Secure By Design scheme.

Most of the U70 range of products are made from the Legend 70 suite of profiles. These sections are generally categorised as Bevelled/Chamfered or Decorative/Ogee profiles (some are extruded with a multi-chambered configuration) and the remaining profiles are dimensionally the same, allowing for the same size glass units being able to fit within, in either situation there is no compromising for any of the energy rating efficiencies. Triple Glazing can also be catered for in all of the U70 manufactured range of products.

The introduction of the Residence Nine Heritage & Conservation window system has provided a new market place within the glazing & retail industry due to its aesthetics and largely 'hand finished' mechanically jointed corners – replicating a traditional timber appearance.
